Bwch-yn-Uchaf is located on the outskirts of the village of Llanuwchllyn (translated means church village above the lake) within the Snowdonia National Park. We have 11 acres of land for you to roam around and perhaps try fishing in our 500 yard stretch of the Twrch river.
Bala Narrow Gauge Railway Station is a 2 minute walk from the cottage where a train will take you along the lake shore to the market town of Bala 5 miles away. You can also visit the train workshops, signal boxes and coffee shop - a real treat for train enthusiasts!
he village is in a large valley and the cottage has stunning scenery being overlooked by the Arenig and Aran mountains.
A ten minute walk into the village is a local pub that serves excellent food from local produce.
Bala market town has several pubs and restaurants, two small supermarkets and many small shops of interest. There are also a few takeaways when you don't fancy cooking!
The Campsite is in a good central position for exploring North & Mid Wales. The coastline of Barmouth and Aberdovey is within an hours journey. The slate mines are 30 minutes away and if the watersports on the lake appeal to you, only 5 miles.
How to find 'Bwch yn Uchaf Campsite'
5 miles from Bala, turn off the A494 (Bala to Dolgellau road) into the village of Llanuwchllyn. Proceed until you see a bus shelter on the right hand side. Turn left directly opposite the shelter. Go over the bridge and follow the road round to the campsite past the Bala Narrow Gauge Railway Station on your right.
