Bwch yn Uchaf Bed and Breakfast is a stone built building dating back to the 1800’s, was built at the same time as the railway.
Upon arrival you will be walking through a small porch with a place to sit and a space to keep your boots and wet clothes.
Walking through the front door you will need to go up one step (5 inch high) from the porch on to a slate floor that covers the hall way. The lights in the hallway and porch is dimmed down to 10% when no one is in the room, but once you walk in the sensors will bring the lights into full power.
To the left of the hall way is the breakfast room with a small wooden slope going up onto a lovely slate floor. There are four dining tables and 8 chairs.
On your right is the kitchen (staff entrance only).
To the right of the hall way you will find the lounge with soft carpets and various chairs to sit on. Here you will find a coffee machine for your drinking needs. But be careful the coffee machine is always full of hot water and needs to be handled with care.
From the hallway leading onwards through the fire door you will be welcomed by smooth carpets leading up the stairs to the landing. Steps are on average 8 inches high with 14 steps with a U-turn half way up over three steps. Hand rails are on one side most of the way up.
Once through the fire door at the top of the stairs you will reach a small landing leading you to all 4 bedrooms. With all the upper floor at one level (no steps)
There are 4 bedrooms with every room having en-suite facilities.
One room has a king size bed.
Two rooms with double beds.
One room with twin beds. (All mattresses are medium /firm)
You will find that the hot water runs through a mixer tap to limit water being too hot.
Two en-suite rooms have walk in showers and two have folding doors.
There are towel rails that can get very hot in all en-suites, feel free to turn them down, (the same goes to the radiators in the bedrooms).
Nearly of the windows are fitted with restrictors to avoid any one from falling out (always on)
The building is a non-smoking property at all times.
All rooms and hallways have emergency lights to show you the way out in an emergency.
In case of a fire please take care. All doors are fire doors (up to 30 min resistance) and all walls are built to last up to an hour resistance. House is hard wired throughout with smoke detectors and alarms.
